Payment options for paying a fine

The Scottish Courts and Tribunals Service collects penalties imposed by courts or issued by the Crown and Procurator Fiscal Service, Police Scotland or other authorised enforcement agencies.

Pay online

You can use the below link to pay an outstanding fine.

Pay your fine online

Fixed penalties requiring endorsement of a driving record can be paid online, unless the penalty points imposed on the ticket bring the total number of active points on your licence to a number equal or greater than the statutory maximum.

Police tickets

If your ticket has been issued within the last seven days, we may not yet have received the ticket details from the Police and you will be unable to pay online.

Clamped vehicles

For release of a vehicle which has been clamped you should telephone any Scottish court and pay the fine and charges in full using a debit or credit card.

Other ways to pay

If you have a debit or credit card you can call 0300 790 0003 any time to pay using our automated telephone payment system. Please have your fine documentation and card handy when you call.

Fixed penalties requiring endorsement of a driving record cannot be paid using the automated phone system. Please see the option to pay online or by post.

You can pay at any Fines Office where payment can be made in cash, by cheque, postal order, debit or credit card.

Check local court information for opening hours and contact details.
